OWNER: Andrzej Derkacz - head restorer

Andrzej began his instrument restoration journey in 1995 at Kolstein NY, known for their high quality workmanship and integrity. He spent time working and learning techniques of restoration and varnishing of string instruments under the supervision of Barrie Kolstein and Jacob Cralidis. His passion for restoration excelled while working at the String Shop of Arizona with Terrance McShaine. Andrzej saw the need for the new violin shop in the Phoenix metro area and in 2009 he and his father in-law Stanislaw Cebulski decided to open Andrew's Fine Violins.

After working for 6 years in the financial industry in risk management, Charles decided to tackle new changes and joined the staff at Andrew's Fine Violins in 2017. He began his musical training on violin in Toronto at the age of 12 with Alec Hou and completed his undergraduate degree in composition at the University of Western Ontario. After relocating to Arizona in 2010, Charles has found various musical opportunities. He is an active member as a violinist with the Chandler Symphony Orchestra and with the string quartet, Q4. He was recently commissioned by the Chandler Symphony to compose a new work for their 25th anniversary season in 2017.

James McKee found his passion for fine arts at a very early age. He graduated with a degree from the college of visual arts in St. Paul Minnesota. In 1999, James found his passion for violin making and restoration. He began his journey of learning the art of violin making with Jenny Becker where he studied repairs. He then attended the Chicago School of Violin Making where he learned the basics of violin making. He worked for the firm, William Harris Lee & Co and under the renowned maker William Whedbee for several years. He continues to make and repair instruments at Andrew's Fine Violins since September 2017.

Stanislaw Cebulski - restorer

Stanislaw worked with Andrzej Derkacz at

Kolstein and the String Shop of Arizona.

He greatly influenced the idea of opening our own

shop and actually made it all happen. With his high

working ethic, integrity and superior workmanship,

Stanislaw was giving all of us a great example to follow.

In 2017 he went on well deserved retirement and moved back to Poland where he enjoys pursuing his hobbies.
